SHOW WILL BENEFIT THE MEMBERS OF OUR NAVAL FORCES STATIONED AT THE KEY WEST
NAVAL AIR STATION
Every October, the U.S. Navy commemorates the birth of the
Navy (October 13th, 1775) by holding a Gala Birthday Celebration Ball. The ball
is designed to enhance a greater appreciation of our Navy heritage, and to
provide a positive influence toward pride and professionalism in the naval
service. This ball is organized and put on by the members of the base
themselves. They do not receive funding from any government source, therefore,
to cover the cost of putting on the ball, the naval personnel have to pay, out
of pocket, to attend the ball. This year, the 237th birthday of the Navy, we are
hoping to raise enough money to be able to defray most of or even completely pay
for the cost of personnel from the Key West Naval Air Station, to put on, and
attend the ball.
It is our sincerest wish that this year, through the efforts
of our volunteers, the participation of our
sponsors, and the show attendance by
you, that we can all make this happen!
The Navy Ball is organized every year by a committee formed from service members
stationed at NAS Key West.  The Navy Ball Committee, with support from the
First Class Petty Officer Association (FCPOA) and the Chief Petty Officer (CPO)
Mess, which are associations also comprised of military members stationed at NAS
Key West, is also responsible for the planning and
execution of the Southern Most Car Show and all its related activities.
This is a monumental task since this is not just a car show, rather, it is a car
show, surrounded by four days full of fun activities!  This event is
designed not just to raise money for the Navy Ball, but to provide a venue where
families can come and be part of a fun weekend celebration, which will be fondly
remembered long after the show ends.

We, the volunteers that are helping the Navy Ball
Committee with the show, are a group formed from members of the various car
clubs in the south Florida area, as well as non-member folks that have seen the
gargantuan amount of work required and have "rolled up" their shirt sleeves and
joined the group of volunteers!  Visit the CLUBS
page to see growing list of participating clubs.  If you would like to get your
club involved in the very worthy cause, please contact us.  Even if you would
just like to step up and help, please don't hesitate to contact us.
The sponsors are very diversified and come from all
over the spectrum of industry. However, they share a common trait, and that is
their willingness to help us bring this show to a successful conclusion. Their
help comes in many forms; monetary contributions, donation of supplies, donation
of goods and services, facilitation of certain tasks, and even supplying their
staff for hands on help! We very much appreciate the help provided by our
SPONSORS, please visit their page, frequent their establishments, and be
sure to say Thank You when you get the chance. If you would like to become a
sponsor, contact us!
Now last, but by no means least, is you.
You help make this show a success in two ways,
first by simply attending the show! Secondly, you help by exhibiting your car in
the show so that the people attending will have the best time ever going thru
Memory Lane via all the fine Antiques and Classics, and then Fast, but not
Furious, dashing over to see the modern Hot Rods and Modified, followed by an
Easy Rider stroll to the Motorcycle Row to enjoy those two (and three) wheeled
marvels!
